What does daily life at Providence Farm look like?
Providence Farm (PF) is designed to help our men navigate the realities of everyday life in a supportive, structured environment. Our goal is to provide opportunities for clients to practice living in recovery while gradually building the skills, relationships, routines, and confidence needed to create a meaningful and sustainable life beyond treatment. During weekly case management sessions, PF’s in-house Clinical Case Managers assist residents in creating healthy routines and goals.
Three mornings each week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., clients participate in therapeutic and experiential groups. Groups address a range of topics, including emotional sobriety, yoga and mindfulness, men’s process, LGBTQ+ process, community culture and consciousness, and various topics related to recovery.
A typical week. Work, school and meeting schedules are built around each client.
In addition to group programming, clients meet individually with their therapist twice each week and participate in a weekly family therapy session. These individualized supports allow clients to work on personal goals, strengthen relationships, and address the challenges that arise as they move through the recovery process.
Daily life at PF is intentionally varied and grounded in the routines and responsibilities of everyday living. Clients may work or attend school, participate in AA or other recovery meetings, play in basketball or softball leagues, go to the gym, spend time with peers, share meals, and engage in other activities that contribute to a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.
Ultimately, our goal is for the men at Providence Farm to build a life in recovery that is vibrant, active, connected, and uniquely their own.
PF provides a supportive environment where clients can learn to navigate all aspects of life sober, while discovering that recovery can be about much more than simply staying sober; it can be about building a life they genuinely enjoy living.
